Appointment of Chief Risk Officer

Rachael Phelan has been appointed as Chief Risk Officer at the RBA, leading our Risk function and responsible for the delivery of the Bank’s risk strategy.

Rachael brings more than 20 years of executive leadership experience in Australia and internationally, spanning risk, strategy, operations and transformation, with expertise in governance, enterprise risk management, regulatory change and organisational transformation. Most recently Rachael has held several leadership roles at NAB, including: Chief Operating Officer for NAB's Business and Private Bank, where she led major transformation initiatives; and Chief Risk Officer at the Personal Bank and uBank.

Rachael will commence in the role on 18 January 2027.
